First thing you want to do is find your main water shut off valve turn it off and teeing off to that should be your irrigation system valve. You will need to drain that into a cup and release any other water pressure from the irrigation tap out to this valve after the blow out. Find your tap out on the outside of the house. There should be a main ball valve where you can hook up your air compressor. Go around the sprinkler system nozzles and knobs and open up each valve one at a time.
It will blow out all of the excess water that remained in the lines underground. As a rule of thumb, use about pounds of pressure per square inch. A little bit left over in the lines is not going to hurt anything underground as long as the majority of the water is gone.

The trio heard reports of big Chinook salmon being caught — lots of them — at the mouth of the Rogue River, home of the famous Rogue Bay summer salmon fishery. The cool ocean breeze in Gold Beach was welcome relief from the hot late-July weather inland, and thoughts of catching big, bright salmon prompted the group to head to the coast and get in on the action. Dozens of boats were already on the water when they launched, trolling the anchovies and spinner blades.
Every few minutes a net would fly into the air as several guides working the lower bay enjoyed a hot bite of ocean-fresh kings near the sand spit. For the past five years, while many of Oregon’s coastal bays have produced less-than-stellar fall Chinook salmon fishing, the Rogue Bay has been a bright spot. It is consistently one of the best bay fisheries on the West Coast. And this year, it appears the trend will continue.
It’s been one of the best fisheries over the last few years on the coast. The runs are robust enough we can meet our escapement goals. It has the perfect conditions to catch salmon, and fish are present for a long time, often for more than three months.

Imarisha, a Portland State University and Oregon State University instructor, poses the question to our group after we have spent 90 minutes examining, wrestling with and, mostly importantly, discussing with one another the history of black people and black communities in Oregon. The question is imposing — forcing us to look to the past and present for answers, and demand an honest reckoning for the future.
There are small posters on the walls of our conference room in the Midland Branch of the Multnomah County Library, forming a timeline of history ostensibly relating to black Oregonians. On one, there is a picture of Marcus Lopes, the first person of African descent in Oregon. Another item features Alonzo Tucker, a black man who was lynched in Coos Bay.

By Gary Lewis The Columbia, the Klamath, the Sacramento and other big rivers are deep, ponderous and powerful and the quest for monster fish can draw us to some of the most dangerous water. To present baits to them, you have to drop anchor. Do it right, and the hook sticks and you slide into position. Do it wrong and the boat is going DOWN. The depths of any big river are fraught with peril. Submerged logs, abandoned cars, construction debris, boats, tangles of tackle and all manner of jetsam are stuck to the bottom of the river.

I looked at the 1, gallon holding tank connected to my well, and it was empty,” she said. The woman believes her year-old well dried up as a result of improvements Swalley Irrigation Company has made to their canals over the last six years. The woman requested her name not be used because, as she says, “irrigation companies get real funny about water, and I don’t want them to know my name. And I know people in the Pioneer Loop, Brookswood and OB Riley housing developments who have experienced the same thing,” the homeowner explains.

Hawn is an expert at his job, and has an excellent demeanor. His ‘down to earth’ personality is truly refreshing. Legal fees are never a pleasant subject; however, I never felt that I was being taken advantage of. A true gentleman and outstanding effort to please a client. Very much appreciated — thank you Mr. My case could not be in better hands! Wayne wasn’t afraid of them. Together we faced them down and eventually they realized they couldn’t bully us.
I am a law student, and I only hope to be as client-oriented as Wayne is. The insurance company refused to even pay half of my medical bills, so I called Jennifer. She was able to get them to pay all of my bills and more! Thank you Jennifer — you are amazing! I am so thankful to know that I can rely on such wonderful legal help if I ever need it again. He explained the process very well.

The house is very comfortable and cozy. We stayed with our almost two year old son and it was a very nice layout for him to go to bed and us to stay up without bothering him. Loved the hot tub and the location! The hosts were fantastic about responding to requests for information, and the place itself was clean and warm on arrival very important for winter. We loved the small touches they left for us to use, such as a cosmetics towel, a Christmas tree for our stay in December, hot chocolate and tea as well as information for Bend itself.
Great hosts and lovely place to stay.

The reality is that many youth make poor choices with fire due to a lack of understanding about the way fire functions and the negative impact it could have on them, their family, and their community. This accountability-based program seeks to educate participants about the unpredictable nature of fire and the physical, emotional, and monetary costs associated with its misuse as well as build skills which will prevent future fire setting behavior.
Bringing Your Fire Education Programs Out of the Dark Ages — Kathy Hook, Colorado Springs Fire Department Many fire service agencies have great tried-and-true educational programs- but how can these presentations be enhanced to be more relevant and effective in our fast-paced world where information is readily available? Safety topics evolve, but often the core messages remain unchanged. How can organizations update current programs to make measurable differences which result in community risk reduction?
This presentation will show how agencies can update existing programs while retaining the fundamental safety message. Examples of successful presentation updates from Colorado Springs Fire Department will be cited. Building Engaging Presentations — Jeff Donahue, National Fire Protection Association This presentation will give the participants the tools to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their current presentation skills; help them select new strategies to test out their presentations; remove “lecture” from the presentation toolkit, and appreciate the value of reflection and improvement.
We will share the history of the Coop, annual events, and how relationships help with many aspects. The information on the Coop will be beneficial to other Coops and areas without active Coops to move forward with forming one. The presentation will have time to have open dialogue to discuss success stories, road blocks, and grant opportunities beneficial to Coops. Citizen Fire Academy Programs: With new knowledge and confidence, participants have been able to engage with their communities, resulting in outcomes such as the creation of Firewise Communities and increased implementation of defensible space on at-risk properties.
The CFA program appeals to individuals who want to create better defensible space on their own properties, but limited time and energy to fulfill the volunteer component has been a barrier to participation and commitment.
